Welcome to Mr.P's Class: 2020-2021. Mr. P is in his 30th year of teaching. This is his 18th class at Meigs. Mr. P's class motto is "Everybody is Somebody!"
Mr. P is originally from Celina, TN, and moved to Nashville in 1986 to attend Lipscomb University. He is a fourth-generation teacher, with his mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother all being teachers and administrators. Mr. P’s wife, Dr. Tammy Parsons, teaches high school math at Tennessee School for the Blind. The two of them met and got married after teaching at two different school together, one of which was Meigs.
Mr. P enjoys working out, riding his motorcycle, bicycling, running, web design, and learning about new ways to teach with technology. Mr. P has two dogs: a collie named Mabel and Meigs. Yes, Meigs. Meigs came to the Parsons family in May of 2011 after being abandoned in a Meigs student’s neighborhood.
“Everybody is Somebody”. Mr. P believes each student has unique and valuable gifts waiting to be developed. He looks forward to getting to know each and every student and hopes each is able to leave sixth grade saying, “Wow! This was the best year ever!”
